Course Development 2011 Annual Plan
Background
In 2003
David Howard from NZ Sport Turf Institute of Dunedin was asked to prepare a
master plan for Green Acres future development.
With the new
tee box on 11 coming into play in the spring the designed changes need to be
made to hole 10 and hole 11 namely;
-
Create an undulating ,target green, draining to the pond, to the left of existing green and
on an angle to the fairway
-
enlarge and shape the existing pond to bring it into play ( taking the
opportunity to make it more shallow from a safety aspect)
-
remove necessary trees in front of new green
-
install one green side bunker on the RHS of green
-
transport shrubs (from the course) and place on RHS of the green in rough about
30-40m in front of the green
-
re-orientate the present outline of the green to be on more of an angle to the
present outline
-
move the bunker to behind the green
-
enlarge swale in front of the green to extend the full length of the green
-
reshape the fairway to new shape aligning to the new tee box
-
provide tee box protection
